Call me drunkgiantbird: I make experimental music, somewhere between shoegaze and alternative metal, using melodic and sometimes heavy guitars. From writing through mastering. But I'm only one part of drunkgiantbird; the live band is listed below. DJ sets run under the same name. My composition style uses a lot of layering, but perhaps not in the traditional way. Live, the band makes them louder and humanizes the antiphonal lines.

The Methods.

Production & engineering

Guitars, drums, keys. Ableton since 2022, used heavily. Drum programming is what I spent the most time on: sampling live sounds at various textures, MIDI grids humanized with scripts, the metronome broken to mimic a real drummer. Six months to get it where I wanted, fast enough to keep up with the writing.

Mixing, mastering, sound design: experiments run through all three. Texture and weight matter.
