Jordan
Irabor.

Twelve years of shipping software. CTO at ConsentKeys (privacy-first authentication, US) and Petrichor Labs (sovereign cloud, Canada). Founder and CEO of DrunkGiantBirdStudios Inc., the studio behind Styx and Charon. Cross-domain work: AI, audio engineering, sovereign infrastructure, and the bare-metal operations underneath, built mostly from primitives up. Music side at drunkgiantbird.com when you want it.

The Work.

Where time goes right now

Three engagements share my time. At ConsentKeys, privacy-first authentication infrastructure, where the pairwise pseudonymous ID system sits closer to first-principles cryptography than most auth work tends to. At Petrichor Labs, a sovereign cloud and hosting platform built outside US CLOUD Act jurisdictions, for privacy-focused businesses that need data residency to be more than a checkbox. The day-to-day is bare-metal orchestration, high-availability failovers, CVE mitigation, monitoring; operational depth that makes sovereignty real rather than performative. At DrunkGiantBirdStudios Inc., my own studio company, which holds Styx (shipped) and Charon (in design).

The Methods.

How I work

The reflex with privacy or cryptographic systems is to reach for a library that handles the hard parts. Mine is to read the spec and build the construction myself, so I know what its surface area actually is. At ConsentKeys this means writing the pairwise subject identifier from HKDF primitives rather than trusting that someone else got the salt strategy right. At Petrichor it means treating jurisdiction and routing as architecture, not as deployment afterthought. At Charon it means building a real DAW engine and a language to talk to it, rather than wrapping someone else's runtime.

Comfortable across the stack: AI, audio, infrastructure, operations. Especially in the parts where abstractions leak.

The Tools.

Public software I've built
2024

Styx · File organization tool for audio engineers

Semantic search across DAW projects, offline-first. Shipped under DrunkGiantBirdStudios Inc. as the studio's first product.

Charon · Intent-driven DAW

An intent layer over a real engine, with its own language for describing what you want. Currently in design.

Music & prior engineering
Ongoing

Music · drunkgiantbird

Experimental music between shoegaze and alternative metal. I write, produce, mix, and master most of it; a live band fills out the rest. DJ sets run under the same name. The full music side lives at drunkgiantbird.com.
